When inserting a picture into a document, do not use manual methods to number, that is, press ENTER to enter the number and caption information manually, the correct way is to take the method of inserting captions to complete.
After the picture is inserted in the appropriate location in the document, right-click the picture, and choose Insert Caption from the shortcut menu. The dialog box shown in Figure 1 pops up, the caption column shows the inserted caption, and the label Drop-down list selects the type of caption, if it is an illustration, select chart, and if it is a table, select table ”。
Depending on your requirements, you can also click the New Label button to create the label that you want. For example, if the document is in chapter seventh and requires that all the pictures in the chapter be numbered in Figure 7-1, figure 7-2, you can create a label for Figure 7-and then select it in the Label Drop-down list box. As for the location, of course, it is placed in or below the selected item, and the description of the picture can be entered manually after inserting the caption.
Inserting captions through the above method is a bit cumbersome, but if you need to insert a new picture in the document later, the newly inserted picture number will be automatically updated without any manual changes.
