Enable vswitch Quick Start attribute knowledge point 1: Quick Start
The port of a vswitch is usually connected to many user terminals. On the Cisco CatOS switch, there is a command-set port host to optimize the configuration of the port connected to the terminal.
Set port host will disable the channel mode of the port;
Set port host activates the spanning tree's fast start (portfast) feature on the port: it allows the terminal connected to the switch to quickly connect to the network and no longer performs dozens of seconds of spanning tree Algorithm detection;
Set port host will also disable the trunk mode of the port: Generally, the terminal only runs on a VLAN, so there is no need to activate the trunk mode;
Set port host will also disable the tunnel feature of 802.1q;
Set port host can also add the 'all' parameter to this command to apply it to all ports.
Ciscostm9> (enable) set port host all
If you want to cancel this configuration: clear port host <all | mod/port>
Enable vswitch Quick Start attribute knowledge point 2: Port channel
Port channel is the concept of Port group Port aggregation. First, Port group is a physical Port group composed of several qualified physical ports. These ports participate in communication, A port channel is formed to form an aggregation logic trunk in network communication. This port channel has the attribute of the logical port to truly become an independent logical port .)
Users can use this port channel as a port, which not only increases network bandwidth, but also provides the link backup function. To make the port channel work normally, the member ports of the port channel must have the following attributes:
Port 1 is in full duplex mode;
2. The port speed is the same;
Port 3 must be of the same type, for example, Ethernet port or optical fiber port;
4. The port is the same as the access port and belongs to the same vlan or the same trunk port;
5 if the port is a trunk port, the allowed vlan and native vlan attributes should also be the same.
