The Social Development Research Center of the Chinese Emy of Social Sciences recently published the "Survey Report on Internet usage and impact in 5 cities in China in 2005". According to the report, the most untrusted form of news among Chinese netizens is email news. Men are more "diligent" than women in accessing the Internet, and leaders are more interested in surfing the Internet than employees ...... Impression: Internet is not just a library
According to the survey results, the most people (79% of respondents) think of the Internet as an information center, followed by news media (55.1%), and the ratio of the Internet as a playground to a social networking place is very close, 36.5% and 36.3% respectively. It is understood that in 2003, the Internet seems to have the highest proportion of libraries, reaching 52%, while this year, people with the same view only accounted for 29.5% of the respondents. Although China's network has been developing for 10 years, China's e-commerce conditions still seem to be imperfect, and it is believed that the internet is only accessible to 26% million people, it seems that the internet is only accessible to 6.5% of banks.
Gender: Men are more "diligent" than women in accessing the Internet"
According to the results of the 2005 survey, 57% of male respondents have adopted the Internet, but only 42.5% of women have adopted the Internet. There are also significant differences between men and women in terms of internet access time. The average Internet access time for the visited users is 2.73 hours per day, while the average time for the male users to access the Internet is significantly higher than that for the female users, almost more than 20 minutes.
For this difference, Kang Guoping, a network culture critic, said that this is normal. Male Internet is concerned with sports and current affairs, while female may only focus on narrow content such as lifestyle and entertainment. "Just as women spend more time in malls than men, online, men show a wider range of interests in knowledge, strong desire to express, and game needs ." But he also said that the length of time has little real value.
Occupation: leaders prefer surfing the Internet more than Clerks
An interesting phenomenon in the survey is that the ratio of Internet access between leaders and bosses is higher than that of common employees. Among them, the proportion of private enterprise owners who use the internet exceeds 80%, while the proportion of foreign enterprise owners who use the Internet is higher than 81% of staff members. Similarly, the proportion of government agencies and public institutions in charge of the Internet (71.1%) is higher than that of general offices and staff (53.5% ).
In this career survey, college teachers and researchers are the most commonly used people on the Internet, and up to 87.5% of them have already accessed the Internet. The Internet access rate is the lowest for workers and individual operators. Only 25.1% of the individuals interviewed use the Internet, while the internet access rate for workers is lower, with only 20.5%. In addition, 31.8% of laid-off people chose to use the Internet.
Trust: most people trust email news
According to the survey, the most trusted news sources are domestic TV, domestic newspapers, and domestic radio news. TV media is still the most trusted media; in addition, people's trust in foreign media news is lower than that of domestic media, and people's trust in online media news is much lower than that of other traditional media. However, the younger the age, the more inclined it is to trust online media. For example, half of the people between the ages of 16 and 24 trust internet news in China.
