Learn how to install mysql in Linux

Source: Internet
Author: User

Mysql-stadard-5.0.24-linux-i686.tar.gz does not need to be compiled. I installed it in the/usr/local/directory.

Two commands

1. tar-zxvf mysql-stadard-5.0.24-linux-i686.tar.gz # extract the mysql-standard-5.0.24-linux-i386 name under the current directory

2. Music mysql-standard-5.0.24-linux-i386/usr/local/mysql

II. in preparation for installation, create a mysql user and a mysql group. (Some may ask why it must be a mysql user or a mysql group, rather than another one. This is because the default value of the configuration file is theirs. You can leave it blank here .)

Command: useradd mysql # The default mysql already belongs to the mysql group, so you do not need to add the mysql user to the mysql group.
