Iis|web|web Service |web Server | Web page
Be attracted by ASP dynamic webpage, the author decided to use Dreamweaver to do an ASP format School homepage. However, when I swapped the HTM pages in the Web server for the new ASP pages, I found that the new ASP pages could not be browsed on all computers in the campus network (the school uses Windows Server's IIS Publishing Web page).
ASP is a server-side scripting environment in which the Web server completes all work when the script runs on the server (note that it is not a client). That is, programmers don't have to worry about whether browsers can handle ASP pages, because the Web server will do the work of translating pages instead of browsers. Because the Web server is implemented through IIS in Windows SQL Server, the author first focuses the troubleshooting on the Site settings for IIS. Go to control Panel → Administrative Tools →internet Service Manager, select Default Web site, and then right-click to select Properties, and in the Properties settings box, look for the settings item in the ASP. In the document Setup bar, add the home page file index.asp as the default document; In the Application Settings column of the home directory, after clicking the Configure button, the ASP-related application mappings in the Application Mappings box are added (see the attached diagram), but in the Application debugging box, The "Enable ASP server-side script debugging" and "Enable ASP client Script debugging" were found unchecked and then selected.

When you are finished, exit the default Web Site properties Settings box. Browse the school homepage in the browser, the failure is still. It seems that the problem is not on the IIS setup, what is the reason? I suddenly think of Windows Server has an event log function, it is better to see if it has records. Right click on "My Computer", select "Management", in the "System Tools", click "Event Viewer", in the "Application" item, found that there is an error prompted, double-click it, the content displayed as "IISADMIN Service discovery Account iwam_mysever invalid." Some IIS features may fail as a result. Does the Iwam_mysever account have something to do with this? Originally for the security of the server, the author will be the default system of many accounts are disabled, including Iwam_mysever account. So I entered the "Computer Management → Local Users and Groups", click the "Users" folder, double-click the Iwam_mysever account, the "account has been deactivated" canceled. After the completion of browsing the school homepage, ASP page finally to see the daylight!
So, Iwam_mysever account is what Dongdong, incredibly will make WINDOWS2000 IIS do not recognize ASP Web page! Originally, the IWAM account is a built-in account that is automatically set up when IIS is installed, primarily for Internet Information services that are used to start applications outside of the process. The name of the IWAM account differs depending on the NetBIOS name of each computer, and the common format is iwam_machine, which consists of the "IWAM" prefix, the connector "_" plus the NetBIOS name of the computer. The NetBIOS name of my computer is mysever, so the name of the IWAM account on my computer is Iwam_mysever, which is very similar to the way IIS Anonymous account Isur_machine is named.
