Let Ubuntu14.04 "save" the screen brightness value and ubuntu14.04 the brightness

The Ubuntu/Debian system has a common problem, that is, the system will adjust your screen brightness to the maximum value every time you start the system. I was surprised why the problem was not fixed in version 14.04. However, we can use a script to set the brightness to a fixed value each time Ubuntu is started.

First, check the range of your screen brightness value:

sudo cat /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/max_brightness

My value is 15, that is, the brightness value can be between 0 and ~ Between 15.

Modify/etc/rc. local and add the following before the last exit 0:

echo 3 > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness

After the system is started, the script is executed. Therefore, the brightness value is set to 3 each time the system is started.

How to change the screen brightness of ubuntu1304

I started ubuntu for more than two months. I first wanted to install ubuntu to learn about linux, then I had a dual system of win7 and ubuntu, and finally I killed it, let ubuntu occupy my local file directly. of course, from windows to linux, there are many inhabits and many problems, but from the tangle of problems to the joy of solving the problem, that feeling may only be understood by people who have experienced it. now I have a lot of gossip. I want to write down the problems and solutions I encountered some time ago. I hope I can help my friends who are still at a loss when I encounter the same problem. problem description: I have used ubuntu12.04, 12.10, and 13.04 that have just been upgraded some time ago. I have encountered the same problem: the fn + f5/f6 key cannot adjust the screen brightness, brightness adjustment can be used to adjust the brightness, but the brightness is automatically restored to the default value after the next boot, that is, the brightness cannot be saved. I am an Asus Ben. Solution: 1. ubuntu12.04 and 12.10. You can modify/etc/default/grub to change GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT = "quiet splash" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX = "": GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT = "quiet splash" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX = "acpi_osi = acpi_backlight = vendor" if the intel video card has not been effective after the above steps, you can change the above two lines: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT = "quiet splash" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX = "acpi_osi = acpi_backlight = intel" 2. ubuntu13.04 solution: the modification of ubuntu13.04 is slightly different from that of 12.04/12.10. Modify the preceding two rows to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT = "quiet splash" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX = "acpi_osi = Linux" or convert = "quiet splash" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX = "acpi_osi = '! Windows 2012 '"or grub_javasline_linux_default =" quiet splash "grub_javasline_linux =" acpi_osi = '! In Windows 2012, you may need to try a few of the above or later codes. If the above Code is ineffective, try the next or later modifications, the specific function depends on different computers. In addition, if "backlight = vendor" has no effect on intel's graphics card, you can directly change it to "backlight = intel". Finally, what I want to say is that you must try more, in the process of trying again, you can easily play with ubuntu and create your own operating system, it's really far behind windows and linux ....

The brightness of the notebook screen cannot be saved.

For new laptop users, there is often a question: "Why is the screen brightness adjusted in Windows, but every time the power adapter is turned off, pulled out, or removed from the battery, why can't I save the last set screen brightness?" After research, I found a solution, which is actually very simple, that is, to adjust the power management options. Take Windows XP as an example. Execute the "power options" icon in the control panel and enter the "power options properties" window. Then, use the FN + up and down arrows to adjust the brightness value you need, click "Save as" and rename the Save Scheme (figure 1). Otherwise, an error is reported. Note that you do not need to create too many new display schemes. Otherwise, the set value of the scheme is invalid. If it is a Vista or Windows 7 system, you can also solve the problem that brightness cannot be saved through the power management attribute. The specific method is to enter the control panel and run the "power options" icon, then there will be three power plans. After selecting one of them as needed, click "Change Plan Settings" under it, drag the two slide on the right of "adjust the brightness of the monitor" to change the brightness. After the adjustment, click "Save changes ".
