Let's move on to Windows 10 and ubuntu kylin15.04,

Experience in installing Windows 10 and ubuntu kylin15.04

I. installation order

There are two installation steps: "install windows first and then install linux;InstallLinuxPost-InstallationWindows". For the former, windows is installed on the C drive, which is the same as the single-system installation method. After linux is installed, linux is installed on other partitions, which does not interfere with each other, when installing linux, you can check whether windows is installed and whether linux is installed on your computer. You can set the startup sequence during startup and then start it. This is how I installed it; for the latter, install linux first. At this time, you can find a partition for formatting and installation. This is no problem, but it is not so good luck when you install windows later. It is true that, we can press windows, but when we restart, we will find that linux is gone, or some startup identification files are lost in linux, which makes the bios unrecognizable, it becomes an obsolete disk, so we can see that the linux installation environment is more intelligent than windows, or the windows environment is used for such checks and avoidance. Therefore, I encourage the use of the former."Install windows first and then linux".

Ii. Installation Process and details

The Details determine success or failure. If a problem occurs in one place after installing multiple systems, the system will collapse, and even all the effort will become useless.
2.1 create a boot disk
Here, my computer is acer (acer), 4 GB memory, GB disk space. The installation method is the same as that for general systems. First, we need to create a USB boot disk, prepare a USB 2.0 or boot disk, and download the UltraISO software from the Internet without cracking. We can try it out. After all, we do not often install the system, after the installation is complete, open the image and USB device.
To sum up, we need to prepare the following items:

After that, we will create a boot disk. If there are two usb devices, we can create two boot disks in one breath to support the installation of windows and linux respectively. If not, we will first create windows, after windows is installed, create a linux instance. The method is simple. Open the UltraISO software, select the image to be created, select "Write hard disk image" in the "Start" toolbar, select a USB device in the dialog box, and format it, click write. For windows, use NTFS. For linux, use FAT32. Wait for a while, basically 10 minutes, and the boot disk is ready.

Then we clean up the files in drive C and save some important files to other disks or other devices, then win + R input cmd open DOS input shutdown-s-t 3 shut down the computer three seconds later, so that the computer can be shut down more deeply, making the installation more stable.

2.2 install windows

This is relatively simple. I believe everyone will check the bios shortcut keys for different models of computers, and then modify some settings to ensure that they are started from USB first, for convenience, you can use the shortcut keys when starting the system. For example, the author's computer (acer) uses F2 to enter the bios and uses F12 for quick selection. After the settings are complete, the system starts normally from USB. At this time, we will wait patiently and follow the prompts of the system to make the selection. This involves a problem. If we want to split all the partitions, re-delete the redistribution (pay attention to saving the data). When we re-divide the data, we will not allocate the last partition in the windows interface, so we don't have to worry about it at this time, after the system is installed, We Can format and allocate it from disk management. For normal installation, You must select the corresponding C disk for formatting and then install it. If you select an error at this time, you will not be able to recover it! In this way, follow the procedures to install windows 10, and do not rush to unplug the USB flash drive. When the system enters the windows Installation interface in the startup order, we close the interface and dial out the USB flash drive, otherwise, the system may fail to be installed. Then we can use windows with some corresponding configurations.

2.3 install linux

Before installing linux, we need to free up a space to install linux. In windows, open disk management, find the disk partition to be installed, right-click and delete the volume, in this way, this interval is free, so that we can locate it when installing linux. Or remember the size and remaining space of each partition to locate the partition.

After that, we still shut down the computer, insert a boot disk with a linux system, and enter the installation interface. After some basic settings, we will start to install the system. This is the most important part. First, the system gave us some tips. The first prompt is to install the dual-system and automatically select it when the system is restarted. However, we cannot customize it freely, it is even possible to install both systems into the C drive, which is messy. The second is clear but keep the files in the system, only install linux, and there are some other options, until the last "something else", this is the custom customization, we choose this! Then, we enter the partition page. Don't be surprised at this time, because linux identifies all our disks and marks them in its own way, we can see that there are no C, D, E, and F disks, instead of sda1, 2, 3, and so on. At this time, the free space came in handy. We found the space and located it through the size, usage, and free flag. Then we made linux partitions in this range, in fact, linux is not called partition, but mount, but the operation is the same.

First, we need to mount the '/' root directory. The allocated space is generally greater than 5 Gb. Here, my space is 100 GB, And I will allocate 20 GB to the root directory, select the primary partition. Remember that the mount point is/and the others are logical partitions;
After that, we are allocating 2 GB space to swap, And the mount point is swap, of course, it is still a logical partition. This space is carried out as needed, and the maximum is consistent with the memory, otherwise it will be wasted.
Next, we will allocate 100 MB to/boot and use logical partitions to guide the OS. In fact, this is not needed here. The size is generally ~ 200 MB.
Then, we allocate 5g to/tmp, which is a logical partition used to store temporary files. The restart fails and is mainly used for servers;
Finally, we allocate all the remaining space to/home. Here we store our personal data, documents, and other content. Of course, the bigger the space, the better the space. In fact, we can continue to divide it, for example, assign to/var,/usr, etc. Depending on our requirements, only the root directory is the primary partition, and others are logical partitions.
After the allocation is complete, we can click Install. At this time, we will check the information about the partition we have installed. After confirmation, We will install it, restart it, configure personal information, and install linux, each time it is started, it is started from grub.

2.4 boot, system switching

Finally, switching between systems is actually very simple. When we start the system, if we do not automatically control it, the default value is linux. This is because it is installed after linux. If you want to advance, you only need to modify it in the bios so that we can start it freely. However, if you start linux first and then start windows from grub in linux, it will usually fail, this is also caused by the failure to find the address of the boot command. At this time, we can press ctrl + alt + del to restart, then press F12, and choose to start from windows. Or, A system is often used for a period of time. You can set the system to start first in the bios.

Iii. Installation Summary

In fact, after understanding these principles, I will learn more about the operating system and read more OS source code, which will be of the guiding significance and the loading of memory, I have a deep understanding of the startup sequence and steps of the computer. Here, we can even install three or four systems. However, what is the significance? It is enough, I have installed it like this a long time ago, but the results have not been recorded. After a long time, I gradually forget it. This is also the original intention of writing this article. I hope it will be helpful to you.
