Linux: How to Use the shutdown command

  • -S: shut down the computer
  • -R: Disable and restart the computer.
  • -F: forces running applicationsProgramDisable without warning the user beforehand
  • -T xxx: Set the timeout to XXX seconds before closing. The default value is 30.
  • Shutdown now: shutdown-F-s-t 0
  • Shutdown-F-S-M: after 30 seconds, disable the computer named test in the LAN.
  • At shutdown-F-s-t 0: automatically shut down at; cancel: AT 1/Delete
  • At/every:, 10, 15, 20 shutdown-F-s-t 0: automatically shut down at, 5, 10, 15, and 20 every month
  • At/every: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday shutdown-F-s-t 0: shutdown automatically at every day
