Mint17 had experienced it on a virtual machine when it first came out.
Now that you've decided to learn Linux, plus it's too mint, you've installed mint17.2 on your virtual machine.
To start configuring the Fcitx IME:
Add PPA:
1 sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fcitx-team/nightly
Update:
1 sudo aptitude update
Originally wanted to follow the online tutorial installed Fcitx-sougoupinyin, but can not find, want to decide to use Google Pinyin.
Install the following packages:
1 sudo Install fcitx fcitx-googlepinyin fcitx-config-gtk fcitx-frontend-all fcitx-module-cloudpinyin Fcitx-ui-classic
Check the list of packages to see if they are all loaded (I'm finished with 14 items):
1 dpkg--get-selections| grep FCITX
Open Input Method Management:
1 im-config
Select Fcitx to determine the way.
Finally, the input method can be used.
