Linux network settings in VMware

The most popular Ubuntu release version Mint is used here. Other versions are similar.

The system in the virtual machine is called Guest, and the system running VMWare is called Host

Set the network mode of VMWare to the Bridge Mode. Note that the Host-Only mode can Only be connected to the Host, and the LAN and Internet machines cannot be accessed.

In the network settings of Guest, set the IP address to the IP address in the same lan network segment as the Host, and set the DNS

Disable the Guest System

Next, add a shared Host connection that can access the Internet and connect to VMNet1.

Go to the Guest system and test Internet access.
