If the Linux operating system forgets the root user password and cannot access the operating system, you can change the root user password in single-user mode.

The second menu is displayed when the operating system is started.

Press any key to stop reading seconds. The GRUB menu is displayed.

Edit Kernel Parameters by letter

Add the number 1 or word single with a space on the basis of the original Parameter

Press enter to start and enter single-user mode

Use the passwd command to set the User Password

After reboot is restarted, the root user can use the new password to log on to the operating system.
