[Linux] [Ubuntu] [14.04.3LTS] install the NVidia graphics card driver, ubuntu14.04.3lts

Environment: [Linux] [Ubuntu] [14.04.3LTS]

1. Download the graphics card driver (A. run file) from the nvidia website)

2. It seems that Nouveau will be installed as the driver in Ubuntu by default, so disable Nouveau in the following way:

Create/etc/modprobe. d/disable-nouveau.conf)

Append blacklist nouveau options nouveau modeset = 0

3. The installation process must be completed in command line only. Therefore, you must disable X service and use sudo service lightdm stop.

4. Restart. After the restart, you may not be able to enter the graphic interface. Press ctrl + alt + f1 to log on to the terminal.

5. Perform Step 1

6. Find the NVidia Driver Installer (. run file) and run sudo sh driver. run (or sudo./driver. run)

7. Install and restart
