The MiFare Classic 1k and 4k tags is not supported due to licensing constraints. The same licensing constraints apply to MiFare Plus tags and desfire tags in MiFare mode (DESFire tags also support ISO781 6-4 mode and these are supported).

Further, it appears that the hardware RIM are using in the Blackberry 9900/9930 are securead from Inside Secure which states It is Mifare Compatible (http://www.insidesecure.com/eng/Products/NFC-Products/SecuRead)

The short answer to the discussion about Mifare Classic are that we don ' t support it. The summary issues is as follows:
1. It uses a proprietary crypto system
2. It does not fully comply to iso14443-3
3. There is licensing issues

It ' s been asked whether if you know the crypto algorithm and has addressed the licensing issues direct with NXP whether I Possible to implement a solution using iso14443-3. I ' M told that it's still not possible (presumably because of [2]).

MiFare 1k and 4k tags is not supported due to licensing constraints. The same licensing constraint applies to MiFare Plus tags and desfire tags in MiFare mode (DESFire tags also support ISO78 16-4 mode and these are supported). MiFare Ultra Light,and Ultra Light C is supported since they is not subject to licensing constraints.

LLCP and SNEP (over LLCP) from the NFC Forum set of specs is planned. They is not available in the current relase (7.0) but is currently planned as part of He peer-2-peer feature which Shoul D be coming soon. I can ' t be more specific about dates. There is a good deck on this and other NFC material that was presented at the latest DevCon11 Confernce (entitled: "NFC:&N Bsp The future of apps and what to Build an NFC Enabled App ").
