Taste is quite small. If you use a famous free software package that hundreds of millions of working people love, you don't have to read this article.

My software selection criteria are:

• Powerful functions (programmable, supporting plug-ins)
• Excellent Performance (with no graphic interface, written in C, general performance is acceptable)
• Honest and reliable (it is best to open the source. if the source is closed, developers should have a considerable credit)
• Green software, preferably plain text configuration files

3 Mac OS X Software List

OS X (10.7.3), the most frequently used software is Emacs, Firefox, Bash, and adium.

I was fooled by some Mac fans and had high expectations for the software under OS x. I was disappointed when I used it. the only highlight is its Unix environment. therefore, all command line software in Linux can be used. these software are generally not repeated.

In addition, I am using some software, but I am ashamed to use these spam (such as the notorious itune), so I will not put it in the Software List.
