Two commands will be able to install the mobile version of the Windows 8 system without destroying the original disk layout, so simple things you believe? There are two ways to use Win8 's windows to go functionality and to make mobile Win8 under Win7 with dedicated WTG accessibility tools. However, the former need to have a 32GB or more USB flash drive or mobile disk, and need to install the ISO installation image in the win 8 Enterprise Edition to make the production, which is still in use Win7 system users somewhat embarrassed. The latter in addition to looking for WTG auxiliary tools, but also need at least 20GB of mobile storage devices, in case the old equipment at hand less than 20GB space, will not be disappointed?
In fact, there is an easier way to implement a low-threshold installation of mobile version Win8. We do not use any tool, as long as there is a 10GB of free space of the USB drive or mobile hard disk (recommended to use the mobile hard drive to ensure speed), ready to WIN8 installation package, two DOS command can be implemented mobile WIN8 installation.
Prepare raw materials
We need not much raw material, first prepare Win8 install the image package, unzip it to the current use of the Windows 7 computer hard disk of the free partition space, or with virtual optical drive software virtual unpacking can also be used.
Install the WIN7 Automatic installation kit from the installation directory C:\Program Files\Windows Aik\tools\amd64 or C:\Program files\windows Aik\tools\ x86 find the Imagex.exe file (or download it directly from the Web).
Mobile device Initialization
Get your mobile or USB drive ready, at least 10GB! Because our goal is to start the system from a mobile device, we need to activate the primary partition of the device. If we are using a USB flash drive, we need to format it as NTFS, and if you are using a removable hard disk, you need to divide the first partition into primary partition and activate it. Activation is simple, as long as you start system Disk Management, and then right-click on the mobile Storage primary partition to select "Set partition as Active partition". If the menu already appears dimmed, the primary partition is already active.
Preparing files for installation
Create a working folder in the hard disk free partition to hold the files required for system installation. Copy the Imagex.exe file you have prepared above into this folder. The Install.wim file under the source folder in the Win8 installation disc image file is also copied to this working folder. This file is larger, a book has more than 2GB.
Automatically extract system files
Run the command prompt as an administrator, enter the working directory we prepared, execute the imagex/apply install.wim 1 f:\ command (Figure 1), wait patiently, and after twenty or thirty minutes, the automatic extraction of the system files will be completed. This wait time is related to the configuration of the computer you are using and the type of mobile device, and if you use a USB stick, it may take longer and the time to move the hard disk is much shorter.
It must be explained that the above command in Parameter 1 indicates that the 2nd storage device in the computer, is assumed that your computer has a hard disk in case of (the default is No. 0), then you inserted the mobile device is the 2nd block, so the serial number is 1. And so on, if there are two hard disks in the computer, the parameters should be changed to 2-side correctly. Parameter f: Indicates the drive letter of the mobile device you are inserting, depending on the drive letter displayed on your computer.
Automatically add startup information
After the above operation, the current system does not have the boot information, we need the mobile Windows 8 device to add boot information.
Still in the command Prompt window, execute the command bcdboot f:\windows/s F: "(f is the mobile hard drive letter) (Figure 2), wait a moment, you can give the USB drive or the system partition of the removable hard disk plus boot files.
Configuration and first boot Win8
Before starting, enter the BIOS setup and set the mobile hard drive as the first boot device in the BIOS. Then turn on the computer power, the installation screen will soon appear, followed by the system automatically prepare the device, prepare the system, restart the computer, enter a generic WIN8 product key (some versions do not need to enter the key), and then enter the account and password, you can enter the new WIN8 system.
Tip: After the BIOS set up the mobile device as the first boot item, if not start, only need to block the other hard disk in the Bois, generally can be started with the mobile device normally, can access other shielded hard drive after boot.
