Making fantasy spheres with Photoshop

This is a tutorial to teach you the method rather than just give you results, it is very simple, and full of fantasy, the effect is very good!

Important: Render filters, polar filters, rotate distort filters, and a little layer effect.

1. Create a new 400x400 pixel document that fills the background with black.

2. Create a new layer, named "Sphere", also filled with black. Perform render > Lens flare, brightness 150%, lens type 50-300 mm zoom, Halo center position as shown in Figure 01, (note: The position of the Halo Center is different, will directly affect the next effect) effect as shown in Figure 02.

5. As you can see, the edges of the sphere have some noise, and the work below is to clear it. Select the Ellipse tool, in the center of the sphere to press the mouse (do not worry about the accuracy of positioning, we can also be adjusted in a moment), while holding down the Alt+shift key, drag the mouse, so we can get a and the ball is basically consistent with the circle; Remove unwanted images after the selection.

It's a beautiful orb, isn't it? You can continue on this basis and make more dazzling effects. At the beginning of this article, we have said that it is the way to teach you, understanding, you can expand the idea, such as without lens halo, and replaced by other textures, you can make a very alternative image. 6. Select the sphere layer, perform the twist and rotate the twist filter, angle 200 degrees.

12. The white layer of the layer blending mode to "color Dodge", and then with a small eraser to the discordant color, note that the erasure will be less transparent settings, the effect will be better. I use a soft 17 pixel brush, opacity is 27%.

Then go back to the blue layer and use the curve to adjust the hue, as shown in Figure 10, so the effect of the blue glare is highlighted.

13. We also need some flash parts, a new layer, named "Flare", with an elliptical tool to draw a positive circle, fill white after the elimination of selection, with a Gaussian blur filter soft, the radius of 2 pixels on it. Then draw a positive circle in its center smaller than it, remove and deselect. Use a rubber tool to decorate carefully until you are satisfied.

14. Finally, use the star brush in the right place to light, brush pressure to 80%, the entire work is completed.

7. Create a new layer of "black", with just the method, to the center of the sphere to establish a positive circle, filled with blacks.

8. Create a new layer of "Blue", select the Brush tool, pick a larger pen, my choice is 100 pixels in diameter, hardness of 0% brush, choose the foreground color for RGB (0,102,255), in the figure vertical uniform way.

9. Perform a spin twist filter with an angle of 50 degrees, press ctrl+f repeatedly, and then use an eraser to erase the extra parts.

10. Draw a positive circle like just now, feather the edge, the radius is about 2 pixels, move to the appropriate location, delete and deselect.

11. Next, we will further modify this aperture. Load Layer Blue selection, select > Modify > Shrink, shrink to 5 pixels; Create a new layer of "white," fill the selection with a blank, and deselect.

3. Below, perform the warp > Polar coordinates filter, choosing from polar coordinates to plane coordinates.

4. How do you turn it into a sphere shape? Yes, it's still a polar-coordinates filter, but before we do, we need to change the image slightly. Under the Edit menu, perform the transform to flip vertically; Use the polar coordinates filter again, but this time we have to choose from plane coordinates to polar coordinates, so our base sphere is formed.
