Mathematical computing in bash

1. Bash only supports integer calculation. The syntax is as follows:

 

Value = $ ($ var1 + $ var2 ))

 

2. Bash does not support floating-point calculation. To do floating-point calculation, you can use awk, for example:

 

Newts = 'awk-V x = $ curts-v y = $ ts_frame 'begin {printf "% d", x + y }''

 

Replace % d in printf with % F, and %. 2f can output floating point numbers. Note:

 

Newts = 'awk' begin {printf "% d", $ curts + $ ts_frame }''

 

In this way, awk cannot be computed normally. You must use-V to define the variables recognized by two awks.
