At a press conference this week, Microsoft search, portal, and Senior Vice President of advertising platformsSatya NadellaThey will add a private browsing mode in IE. An article in a blog called Long Zheng mentioned that Microsoft recently submitted two trademarks cleartracks and inprivate, which seem to be related to this.

Both trademarks are related to Web browsers. cleartracks is related to the deletion of browsing history, while inprivate involves disabling browsing history and image caching.

The most direct use case of the private browsing mode is, for example, browsing pornographic websites to avoid leaving traces, and other applications. For example, users can use the private browsing mode to search for medical and disease-related content.

Microsoft did not comment too much on this feature, but said that we added some privacy features to ie8.

In an article published by Microsoft in June, Microsoft said that privacy is an important part of trustworthy browsing. A big challenge is that, clearly tell users what information is being leaked on the website they are browsing, and ask them to control the information exposed. Microsoft defines privacy as that users can control the information that the browser can provide to the website.

IE is still dominant in the browser market. IE8 is currently in beta testing and will be released later this year.
