MySQL co-founder has submitted his resignation letter to Sun

According to foreign media reports, MySQL Community Relations Director Kaj Arno announced on Tuesday that MySQL co-founder David Axmark has submitted his resignation to Sun.

"I evaluated my role in Sun and thought I was more suitable for small companies. I hate every day's rules and regulations, and I don't want to break them. For me, it would be appropriate to retire and then cooperate with MySQL and Sun in an informal relationship ."

In the past few years, Ike mark has played an important role in MySQL, including Engineering Supervisor, internal IT supervisor, and community relationship supervisor. It was under the idea of ekmark that MySQL became an open-source software.

For Sun, the departure of Ike mark is no small blow. In January this year, Sun acquired MySQL for $1 billion. Amo said: "Ike mark is a heavyweight, and many senior MySQL engineers are recruited by Ike mark ." It's just recently that Mike's role has gradually shifted to dealing with media and communities.

But ekmark also pointed out: "In terms of feelings, the departure of a founder is quite sad. But it will not have a big impact on the company's daily business ." It is reported that Ike mark will officially resign on March 13, November 10. After leaving, Ike mark will continue to provide consulting services for Sun.

AMO also revealed last month that another MySQL founder, Michael Widenius, also plans to resign. "We are still working in the company, but it is hard to predict the future," amo said on Tuesday ." Currently, the Sun database department is still under the responsibility of Marten Mickos, former CEO of MySQL.
