MySQL database between syntax usage and boundary value resolution

Between usage:

For a where expression, select data between two values, such as:

1 SELECT ID from user WHERE ID between value1 and value2;

When between is preceded by the NOT operator, it represents a value outside the range of value1 and value2.

1 SELECT ID from the user WHERE ID not between 2 and 5;

Between boundary resolution:

By example, we can see that the results are 2=< ID <=5; visible in MySQL database, the two values isolated from between are closed intervals.
