MySQL database, table character encoding

The default character encoding when creating a new database and table with the MySQL command line is latin1, but it is generally used in the actual development process using the UTF8 format encoding. The operation is as follows: 1. Modify Database character encoding
    • mysql> ALTER DATABASE mydb character set UTF8;
2. When creating a database, specify the character encoding of the database
    • Mysql> CREATE database mydb character set UTF8;
3. Check the character encoding of MySQL database
    • Mysql> Show variables like ' character% '; Query character encoding for all properties of the current MySQL database
 4. Change the default character set of the table and the character set of all character columns to a new character set
    • ALTER TABLE tbl_name CONVERT to CHARACTER SET charset_name;
5. To Change the default character set for a table, use the following statement:
    • ALTER TABLE tbl_name DEFAULT CHARACTER SET charset_name;
