Syntax:

Mysql_client_encoding (connection)

Link parameter: connection:
Optional. Specify the MySQL connection. If not specified, the last connection opening mysql_connect () or mysql_pconnect () is used
 
After you successfully connect to the database, add the following.
 
$ Charset = mysql_client_encoding ($ con); echo "The current character set is: $ charset ";
 
You can determine the character set encoding used for your current connection.
