The coveted material management artifact is coming! New inboard has four bright spots: to meet the basic needs of picture management, lightweight, fast, and site one-click Screenshot Save, while supporting dribbble like subscription, the price is not expensive, hurriedly buy buy buy >>>

A year ago I wrote two very long articles about ember, and recommended designers use it to manage materials. But after a year I have strongly not recommended Realmac products, the most important thing is ember. The iOS version is no longer updated, the Mac version is becoming bloated, the CPU occupies high has not been solved. What would have been more efficient would have been a serious reduction in efficiency.

After saying goodbye to Ember, I've been looking for the right material to manage the application. A period of time to go back to use Pixa, but always feel that the product of the last era, not convenient. In fact, early on know that the application of inboard, was its beautiful logo to attract. Unfortunately at that time stayed in the beta version of no movement and finally did not pay too much attention, until a few days ago it finally officially released 1.0 version of the official shelves.

Sometimes it's just so funny, when I'm ready to write inboard's evaluation, I met the application developer @ Liudong. So I interviewed him briefly and asked three questions, hoping to let you know some interesting things behind inboard.

 Q: Simply introduce yourself? People always thought it was a foreign developer's product.

A: I am a full stack developer who is now attending school in Vancouver. I like to build every part of my product, from design to app and back end, and I want to do every detail of the product. The recent major development in IOS and Mac App,inboard is my first Mac app. He also made the IOS version of tomato and potatoes.

Q: How to consider the application of inboard?

Inboard's story was very interesting, but I didn't develop it at first. I am a very fond of design people, often collect a variety of app screenshots. One day I found the beta version of the inboard, one to put it down, but the version was very imperfect. I gave the author a lot of feedback and they responded very quickly, but there was no new version. I went through every one of their tweets as human flesh and found that they had no developers. I find it a great opportunity because it is hard for me to be a picky person to have apps that are completely satisfying for me. And if you take over the inboard, you can make your favorite app polished perfect. Then I contacted them and expressed my thoughts, then I decided that I would take over the development of inboard. After six months of development, most bugs were repaired and new features added to the app Store.

Now inboard has a team of three people, product manager in Latvia, designer in Ireland while I am in Canada.

 Q: Inboard has been praised by many designers, what is the new plan after 1.0 release?

A: Our positioning of the inboard is clear, is simple, easy to use, fast image collection software. So we don't have video recordings like Ember, and there's no annotation, we keep it light and fast. We want to make the best of a feature. In the short term, we will fix bugs based on user feedback and continue to optimize the speed of inboard. The long-term goal is to implement synchronization capabilities and IOS clients.

If you have used Ember to turn back and use inboard, you'll find that it's actually a lot less functional. But the advantage is that the application is lightweight and easy to use. Then look at the complex features in Ember, and I'll use it all the while to be a small part of it.

Apart from the folder and tag mode of image material management, inboard also offers Chrome, Safari full-screen screenshots saved, dribbble like the focus of two core functions. Let me introduce you to the next one.

Open inboard default will stay in the library module. All of the material put in the application can be found here. Drag in the picture you want to save.

If you need to find the source map, click on the right mouse button to select "show in finder". If you need to use this image in your application, drag directly into the target application. In addition, the right sidebar will display thumbnails, captions, add times, URLs (only by applying screenshots) and the tag area when the picture is selected. Here you can put tag on the picture to facilitate management. Click on the URL can jump to the screenshot corresponding to the site, after all, some pages need to see its dynamic effect how to achieve, can jump links will be very practical.

If you want to see the picture quickly, you hit the empty style with the system preview or double-click to enter the details page to view.

untagged panel. This is actually a very useful thing, convenient for everyone will add tag to the material picture. All tagged images will be transferred from here to the tag below.

The folder and tag two cross dimensions have become standard for picture material management applications. I always have a question is how to help you manage tag, otherwise most of the time a long tag will be piled up a lot. I'm very concerned about how inboard will look back on this issue.

Dribbble like subscription panel. Both Ember and inboard have this function. Ember is very powerful, in addition to the dribbble also support RSS based subscriptions, in the application can complete the preview work. Inboard only supports subscriptions to pictures I like on the dribbble.

In Ember, this is one of the most reviled functions. The subscription function is really powerful, but its performance has never been better, has been in constant crash. If you think about it, you will suddenly find that we want a picture management tool, the subscription function is not a strong demand, it is not suitable to put here. The professional thing is to let the attention of the tool to do, I should still put them in my Reeder. So, for the inboard of this decision sincerely a praise.

All deleted images in the inboard will go into the Trash module, where you will have a chance to regret it. Again, the application will really erase it completely.

Inboard the second big module on the left navigation bar is tag, where you can click tag to browse through the pictures. Because inboard the default will be all the use of the tag is displayed (only used once will be shown), a long time maintenance management will be a big problem. Have the opportunity to be sure to the @ Liudong the original discussion.

Inboard left navigation a third large module, folder management. In inboard, folders and tags can be used in cross use.

Finally, be sure to say a screenshot of the function. Inboard supports scrolling through the current page in Chrome or Safari and saving it to a gallery. Ember also has this function, a powerful mess is also difficult to use a mess. Inboard from the screenshot to save a few seconds to fix, this is enough.

Finally, I would like to sum up some of the use of inboard experience:

Meet the basic needs of picture management;

Light weight, fast speed;

Site One-click screenshot save;

Support for dribbble like subscriptions (the hope is to go back and develop some other feeds).

The inboard for Mac is priced at 19.99 dollars. It is estimated that some people will feel expensive, but if you compare the difficult ember for Mac49.99 dollar price, you will feel inboard really not expensive. If you find ember difficult to use, or have not yet found a suitable picture management application. You can take a closer look at the inboard evaluation. At least in my opinion, this is the best option for now.
