In addition, Screenlets now has its own PPA source (here) which can be easily installed in the latest Ubuntu version.
Install Screenlets 0.1.4 in Ubuntu
Screenlets PPA supports Ubuntu 11.04, 10.10, 10.04 or even. 10. Add the PPA source and install Screenlets. Run the following command on the terminal:
Sudo add-apt-repository ppa: screenlets/ppa
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get install screenlets
After installation, you can find the Screenlets in the "application"> "accessories" and enable your favorite desktop gadgets.
Use the iGoogle tool in Screenlets:
Step 1: Open the Screenlets manager, click "Install", select "Convert Web parts", select "Google Gadgets", and click "go to the web page ", you can open the googel small plug-in website.
Step 2: select a small plug-in you like and click "add to your webpage" to enter the plug-in editing window. After setting the style and size you like, click "Get Code". Then, A piece of html code is generated.
Step 3: copy and paste the html code obtained in step 2 to the html code box corresponding to the Screenlets part converter. After adding the Tool Name, click OK to add the tool.
Step 4: Start the gadgets added in the previous step in the Screenlets manager.
