Today, I saw a project management interview question. I thought it was a little interesting and I tried to answer it.
Question:
Assume that you are a leader in a team and you have a project that must be completed on time, when the workload is saturated, it takes three months for five people to finish the task on time (here, the saturation means that each person cannot increase the workload or increase the overtime ), but after two months, one of them wants to leave the company and asks you what to do?
My answer:
Test site: risk management, scope management, contract management, team management, communication management, configuration management, and change management.
- Risk management: Is there any plan or buffer time?
- Scope Management: the tie triangle of the Project tells us that productivity can only be reduced when the construction period and quality remain unchanged.
- Contract Management: How is the contract agreed to narrow down the scope?
- Team Management: Are there any backups? Can it be retained? How can I arrange for a new person to come in?
- Communication Management: how to communicate with the team and the customer and company about the change?
- Configuration Management: Work handover involves inspection and handover of various configuration items.
- Change management: All of the above are completed. Start to adjust the scope, plan, and budget.
