As a member of the Open Compute project, the Red Hat Enterprise Linux system runs on two project-based servers for authentication. The authentication has been completed, and RedHat is expected to further test its Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization platform and storage technology on these servers.
Facebook started the OPen Compute project in May this year after setting up an efficient data center in Prineville this year. Currently, Dell, Intel, Asus, and AMD have contributed proprietary technologies to this project.
Facebook has another data center in North Carolina and announced at the Open Compute Summit that it would set up its first European data center.
