Opensuse usage Summary

As soon as I got excited, I installed opensuse. To be honest, the figure shows that its interface is pretty and has a simple and beautiful look. As you can see from the internet, it does not use a very strange ulity desktop system like Ubuntu, so that I will not be able to adapt to it at once. However, for the sake of security, the previous windows was not deleted.

However, unfortunately, opensuse does not give me the confidence to stick to it. Why?

1. Network

I use ppoe to access the Internet in the dormitory. The DSL configuration is not found on the network map in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Both win7 and Ubuntu have the function of configuring broadband connections on the taskbar. Opensuse does not work. Then I opened the YaST control center and saw DSL in the network device group. After the configuration, I found that it was useless. In desperation, I restarted and went back to win7 and looked at the configuration method. It turned out to be configured using the pppoe command line. Therefore, I saved the configuration method to a text file, saved it, and restarted the system. Then we can get it done.

2. Chinese Input Method

Select English when installing my system. No Chinese input method was found in the system, so logout and set the logon language to Chinese. Then, let's see if there is still no Chinese input method. This makes me very tangled. Because it previously used javast10.04 to download the Chinese Language Pack and input method by itself, but opensue cannot. Finally, run to install/remove software and select "Install ibus" from the installation package list. After the installation is complete, you will find that the installation is useless. Because I only select ibus and ibus-pinyin packages. Ibus-table, ibus-QT, and ibus-GTK are not selected. Nima, I can install ibus, which is used in the desktop system. It has a graphical interface and is not automatically associated. Although ubuntu11.10 is not easy to use, after installation, ibus can be automatically installed based on the Language Pack Installed in the system.

3. music and video

I recently learned about Android and downloaded some videos. Previously, when I watched videos in Ubuntu without plug-ins, I was able to automatically search for related plug-ins. In opensuse, it cannot be searched again. In addition to some updates made when install/remove software was started, MP3 playback is supported, and videos and audios in other formats are not supported.

No way, I had to go online and find the plug-in and software warehouse required for video playback, and add the warehouse to the warehouse list. Then install the plug-in. Finally, the video can be played. However, I suddenly found that two more players are installed: mplayer and smplayer. They are speechless. What do you do when you install so many players. Isn't a player already on the machine?

4. 7z file recognition failed

The 7z file downloaded from your computer is displayed in the directory under LS-L of opensuse 11.4.

5. Files on Windows cannot be deleted.

This problem can be caused by recognizing files as directories.

6. Software

In fact, this is the focus. There are too few software available in the opensuse software repository. If you look at the number, it seems that you cannot see anything, but it is really less pitiful than ubuntu. Included in install/remove software and in software.opensuse.org.

The 7z file failed to be identified. In fact, the file was still in the file list after being mistakenly operated. Before logging on to Windows 7, a disk was asked to go to chkdsk, and then the file index was cleared.
