Optimize Windows2000 network speed

First of all, to Win2000 the parameters of learning some settings changes, which mainly include the following aspects:

1. Right-click the network neighbor icon on the desktop, and then right-click the dial-up connection that is already established in the Network and Dial-up Connections window that appears, and choose Properties from the pop-up menu to enter the Modem Property Settings window (Figure 1).



Click on the "Configure" button here, and in the "Top speed" list to determine the modem can use the maximum transmission rate, the general selection of the "115200", if the parameters are chosen incorrectly, it will cause your 56K flying cat can only be compared with the 33.6K weak cat situation (Fig. 2).

2. In the window of Figure 1, select the "Network" tab, which shows the network protocol used for dial-up connections. In general, we use the PPP dial-up connection type, as long as the Internet protocol is used in the list of selected components below, which eliminates unnecessary components to speed up the network. Next select Internet Protocol and press the "Properties" button on the right, and click on the "Advanced" buttons in the pop-up window to start setting the properties of the TCP/IP protocol. 3, into the control panel double-click "Phone and Modem Options", in the pop-up window you can see the modem used by the current system, then click on the lower right corner of the "Properties" button, and in the "Advanced" tab in the "Change the default preferred" buttons, which appears as shown in Figure 5 of the interface (Fig. 5).



One caveat to this is that the port speed is defined as "115200", the Data Protocol is "standard EC", the compression is enabled, and the flow is controlled as "hardware" mode. In fact, some of the parameters have been changed before, this is only to check it.

4, in the Control Panel double-click the System icon and select the "Hardware" tab, and then press the Device Manager button to enter the Device Manager window. Here you can see the situation of all the devices in the computer, we need to select "Port" in the list, and then double-click the port name (such as COM1) connected to the modem to set the properties of the port. To do this, first change the "bits per second" Under the Port Settings tab to "115200", while ensuring that the data bit parameter is 8, parity parameter is none, stop bit is 1, and flow control is hardware (Fig. 6).



Then click on the lower "advanced" button, in the pop-up window will receive the buffer and the transmission buffer all set to the maximum (Fig 7), so that the modem to the maximum degree of work for you.

Second, kernel parameter optimization

The above adjustment and optimization are almost all to the modem hardware equipment, but we all know that under Windows98 there is a program called Fast Cat Whip to optimize network-related system parameters, in fact, Win2000 also need to MAXMTU (maximum transmission unit), Rwin ( Data buffer), TTL (data Survival time), and so on to set up a series of parameters to optimize kernel parameters for the purpose. Running it will see the window shown in Figure 8 (Fig. 8), because it was introduced by the author on Christmas Eve, so the interface brings us a feeling of reliving Christmas, which is probably the author's Christmas gift to all the nets. There are only three buttons on this interface, so it's very simple to run.



First press the "Manual Settings" button to set the network parameters. In this window, we can select the maximum transmission unit, speed up TCP/IP Windows Size, TTL, the three main parameters, but also the MTU automatic detection, speed up TCP and some other feature options. Use the mouse to select a different parameter, or in the check box before the corresponding options can be ticked (Fig. 9). After the parameter is set, press the "Save" button to return to the window shown in Figure 8, and then click the "Optimize Network" button and restart the computer to work on the network parameter settings.



You might think that Super bunny. Network optimization does not provide fast cat and whip the same type of modem speed and related parameters of the automatic optimization function, and they are not very understanding of these parameters, fear can not play the best optimization parameters of the effect.
