Optimizing Master System Performance test

System performance testing will be graded by testing the cpu/memory speed, video card/memory speed, and hard disk capability of your systems.

For your convenience, Windows Optimization Master offers a variety of configurations for user reference.

You can choose an "overall performance assessment" based on your own needs or a single test.

First, cpu/memory speed evaluation.

1, integer floating-point operations. By adding and subtracting, multiplication and division method, the model ... The overall time to evaluate the performance of integer and floating-point operations.

2. Single-Thread woptiπ. Evaluates performance by starting a thread to compute the PI value.

3, two-thread woptiπ. Compute the PI value to evaluate performance by starting two threads (for dual-core processors, which will attempt to put two threads on separate cores).

Note: Dual-core processors This item score is not in the same distance as a single-threaded woptiπ.

4, four thread woptiπ. Evaluate the performance by starting four threads (for quad-core processors that will attempt to put four threads on separate cores) to compute PI values.

Note: Four core processor this item score and single-threaded woptiπ, basically equivalent to two-thread woptiπ.

Remark: The higher the above item score the better.

Another: Intel Core series CPUs are optimized for PI value calculations, so this part of the Intel processor PI value will be higher than the same level AMD processor.

cpu/Memory Speed Assessment process:

cpu/memory speed evaluation score; Similarly, to facilitate your comparison, Windows Optimizer Master also provides a variety of cpu/memory configurations for user reference. The scoring of each item is also listed in detail.

Second, the video card/memory speed assessment is estimated by testing the following items of the video card:

1, pixel scanning and filling speed.

This module detects the performance of the user system by using assembly language for screen drawing. Where: EAX registers are used to store the number of drawing frames; The EBX registers are used to store y-axis coordinates and pixel colors; The address of the ECX register for each line of pixels; The edx registers are used for x-axis coordinates.

2, text, curve and window scrolling speed.

This module detects the performance of the user's system through a screen drawing of Windows GDI.

3, grab screen, picture compression/decompression, picture output.

(1), this module first grasping screen;

(2), the capture screen image is stored in BMP format to memory area A;

(3), to the memory area a BMP picture Zip compression coexist in memory area B;

(4), decompression memory Area B picture;

(5), display uncompressed picture.

This module can evaluate the comprehensive performance of the system.

4, OpenGL performance test.

OpenGL (Open Graphics Lib) as an industrial standard for three-dimensional graphics processing, is a set of hardware-independent, Cross-platform 3D APIs (that is, whether the hardware device is x86 or power, and whether the operating system is windows, MacOS, or Unix), OpenGL can be applied).

Note: Currently the highest specification for OpenGL is V2.0. Typical applications for OpenGL on Windows platform are game Quake series, Doom and software AutoCAD, 3DS Max ....

The Windows Optimizer Master's test of OpenGL requires that the user's graphics card support V1.2 above version of OpenGL.

Note: The current mainstream consumer graphics card has fully supported OpenGL V1.3,nvidia company Riva TNT is the first full support OpenGL V1.2 consumer-level display chip.

5, Direct3D test.

DirectX is a suite of APIs that Microsoft provides to connect applications and hardware, mainly for multimedia programs and games under Windows platforms. DirectX includes: DirectDraw, DirectSound, DirectPlay, Direct3D, DirectInput, DirectSetup, AutoPlay, etc.

Windows Optimization Master's Direct3D test requires that the user's graphics hardware support DirectX 8.1 or later, and that a DirectX8.1 or later version of DirectX should be installed on the user's system. If you don't see the test effect, check that your system meets both of these criteria.

(1), Direct3D bump Mapping test

Bump mapping (bumpmapping) is to add bump information to the polygon, so that a originally flat object looks uneven, at present, 3D games are using a large number of concave-convex mapping technology.

Master of Windows Optimization This test will produce a lens effect using the bump mapping technique on a screenshot of the picture. The user can watch a lens move on a screenshot while testing, and also through the status bar prompts to check whether the hardware supports bump mapping and the number of frames reached by the bump mapping test.

Note 1: When hardware is supported, it should appear as "hardware acceleration" or "software acceleration". If the user's graphics hardware supports bump mapping, Windows Optimizer will be added to the graphics performance test.

(2), Direct3D Illumination Mapping test

The Illumination map (lightmaps) mixes the predefined textures above the basic textures to simulate real lighting effects, which are very important in the current 3D game. Illumination mapping requires a multilayer texture map, if the graphics card does not support multi-layer texture mapping, Windows Master Optimization in the test of this project will be a multiple rendering method to achieve the illumination map.

Master of Windows Optimization This test will mix the prepared light textures into the rotated screenshots. The user can watch the light and shadow effect on the rotating screen image, and can also check whether the support of the illumination mapping by the status bar is multilayer texture or multiple rendering.

Note 1:windows Optimization Master to achieve the lighting map of the way: multilayer texture or multiple rendering, when the user's graphics support multi-layer texture map will receive extra points.

Video card/memory speed assessment process:

During the video card/memory speed assessment process, a dialog box appears, and if your video card supports DirectX 8 or later Direct3D hardware acceleration, please click OK

The Direct3D illumination mapping test in the video card/memory speed assessment, you can answer the actual view of the screen, see, click "Yes", not click "No"

Third, the hard disk performance evaluation.

Evaluate the performance of your hard disk by creating, writing, and reading files on your hard disk.

A few things to note:

1. Excessive disk fragmentation may result in low evaluation values for this test, and it is recommended that you refer to performance by disk defragmentation.

2. File Protection for virus firewalls may result in low evaluation values for this test.
