Oracle launches a fully enhanced MySQL Enterprise Edition

Oracle recently announced the official launch of MySQL 5.5 Enterprise Edition. MySQL Enterprise Edition is a Subscription-based product, including MySQL database and monitoring optimization, backup and design tools, as well as 24x7 Global Customer Support Services. The new features include enhanced functions of MySQL Enterprise Backup, MySQL development tool (Workbench), and MySQL Enterprise Monitoring and tuning Enterprise Monitor.

The latest integration with MyOracle Support allows MySQL customers to access the same Support architecture as Oracle database customers. Through a general technical support interface, MySQL and Oracle can solve the problem more quickly. By supporting multiple operating systems, including Linux and Windows, MySQL Enterprise Edition can help customers reduce their total cost of ownership by up to 90% compared with Microsoft SQL Server. New Features of MySQL Enterprise Edition include:
1. Integration with MyOracle Support: enables MySQL customers to benefit from Oracle's world-class 24x7 Support architecture. It also allows existing Oracle database customers-they can use MySQL database technology in developing Web applications and department-level applications-to obtain MySQL technical Support using their existing MyOracle Support environment.

2. MySQL Enterprise Monitor 2.3: new rules and graphics are introduced to help you further optimize the performance and availability of MySQL Databases and MySQL clusters. This version includes the new MySQL database, InnoDB Storage engine, and management information graphics for the operating system, which can improve the visibility of key systems for real-time monitoring or Historical query.

3. MySQL Enterprise Backup 3.5: helps enterprises implement online hot Backup requirements for MySQL databases. By supporting comprehensive, incremental, and partial Backup capabilities, as well as real-time recovery and Backup compression, improve data integrity and increase running time.

4. MySQL Workbench 5.2: provides data models, SQL development, and comprehensive management tools to help users visually design, model, create, and manage MySQL databases.
