Oracle R12 Multi-organization access Control-MOAC (multi-org access Control) MOAC (multi-org access control) is a key new feature of Oracle EBS R12 for multi-organization access controls It enables the operation of multiple operation Unit (OU) under one responsibility. MOAC allows a user to process multiple OU-organized transactions under one responsibility without switching responsibility.

Here is a scenario to illustrate: A group under the main divided into three regions (North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific), Asia-Pacific you are a purchasing department manager, responsible for all seven operation Unit. In this case, the system administrator can create a security profile that is set up to access the seven Asia-Pacific organizations and assign this security profile to your responsibility, This way you can access the seven OUs under the same responsibility without having to switch responsibilities to access different OUs.
In addition, if you want to deal with the business under the Chinese OU frequently, then you can set Profile:MO:Default Operating unit to China, then the default OU is China.

MOAC related configuration file with three main profiles
    • MO: Security profile----provide access from individual responsibilities to multiple OUs. If MO: Security profile is set, then MO: the business entity profile is ignored.
    • MO: Default business entity----If you set the MO: Security profile, you can also use the MO: Default business entity profile option to set up a business entity OU as the default OU. This setting is useful when you are dealing with transactions in multiple OUs, and you often work with transactions in a business entity.
    • MO: Business entity----MO: Business entity profile option can only access one OU.

MOAC Profile Rule 1, if the profile option "Mo: Security Profile" is not set, then the "Mo: Business entity" value is used as the default OU, although the "MO: Default business entity" Profile is set to a different value. 2. If the profile option "Mo: Security Profile" Sets the value and only provides access to an OU, the default OU will return this value, although the "MO: Default business entity" Profile is set to a different value. 3. If the profile option "Mo: Security Profile" Sets the value and provides permissions to access multiple OUs: if the "MO: Default business entity" setting value, it will be validated with the list of business entities in "Mo: Security Profile", if the business entity is included in the security profile, it is returned as the default value , otherwise there is no default OU, and if MO: Default business entity does not have a value set, then there is no default OU. Single organization case single organization that is a responsibility only access an OU, the settings are generally as follows, for duty: manufacturing and distribution Manager,
Mo:operating unit=vision Operations
Mo:security profile= Empty

This way we use duty: manufacturing and Distribution Manager, only access to the Vision operations data, such as the creation of PO, this PO can only be in the Ou:vision Operations, the other selected suppliers can only be under the vision operations.

Multi-organization case first defines a Security profile, path: HRMS Super User Responsibility > Security > Define security profile, business Group: Vision Corporation, ' Security Type ' select ' Secure organizations by organization hierarchy and/or organization list ', And we add three ou:vision operations, vision Corporation, Vision Services in the organization Name list.

Save the defined security profile and then, under HR responsibility, run the "Security List Maintenance" program, "Generate lists for" = one Named Security profile, Se Curity profile is just the definition of ' ptian_security_profile '.
The purpose of the security list maintenance is to have your defined security profile in effect and be able to set it to profile "mo:security profiles" (The Security list maintenance Concurrent program must is run each time you add or change Security Profiles.)

Under System admin responsibility, Profile > System, set mo:security profile to just define ' ptian_security_profile '

Then cut back to manufacturing and distribution manager duties, open the PO, this time, you can not switch responsibilities, define the purchase order under the three OU.

Generally speaking: A company under a number of subsidiaries, then the company is Le (legal entity), the subsidiary is balancing entity (balanced paragraph), that is, a profit center. Define the legal entity (LE) where the organization is set up, specify the book, then set up the subsidiary as a business entity (OU), specify the legal entity, and set a balance segment value for each subsidiary when defining the chart of accounts (COA). The legal entity itself can be a balanced segment.
The General department is only treated as a financial cost center, and the subsidiary can be set up as a business entity (OU), a company segment for each subsidiary, a workshop and a warehouse corresponding to the inventory organization.
The following are the terms of reference, which are explained in detail below:
Account SetsA financial reporting entity that uses a specific chart of accounts (COA), accounting standard currency, and fiscal calendar. If one of the above three elements is different, a different set of books must be established. Oracle General Ledger sets the security controls for business information (journal entries and balances) in the set of accounts.
OrganizationAny entity defined using the Define organization window is called an organization, the organization has different classifications, and the organization is categorized to determine the type and purpose of the organization. Types of organization are: Business group, legal entity, business entity (Operating Unit), Inventory organization (Inventory Organization), and personnel organization (HR Organization). An organization can be designated as multiple classifications, such as an organization that may be a legal entity, as well as a business entity, inventory organization, and asset organization.
Business GroupA business group represents the highest level of a structure, such as an enterprise merger or the highest department of a company, and the current business group has no other purpose than to isolate personnel information. Only the list of employees in the business group to which the accounting unit belongs is visible in any module. Multiple legal entities can be assigned to the same business group.
Legal EntityRepresents the legal entity to which the financial and tax statements are to be submitted. Specify the tax registration number and other legal entity information to this type of organization, and the legal entity to specify the set of accounts for which it is accounting.
Business EntitiesUse independent accounting entities for modules such as Oracle Receivables, Oracle Payables, Oracle Sales, Oracle Procurement, Oracle Cash Management, and Oracle Project Accounting. Any independent accounting organization is a "business entity" that has a legal entity assigned to it. In the above module, business information is set to security by business entity, and some information is shared.
Inventory OrganizationUse the inventory organization to track inventory operations and balances, and/or manufacturers to distribute goods. Oracle Inventory, Oracle Bill of Materials, Oracle process design, Oracle on-product, Oracle Master Production Planning/MRP, Oracle Competency, Oracle Quality, Oracle cost management, Oracle supply chain planning, and Oracle sourcing (receive capabilities ) are based on the inventory organization to establish security control. The inventory organization can be assigned to any business entity under the same set of accounts, the relationship between the inventory organization and the account is limited to financial accounting purposes, and the inventory organization determines which items (items) are available in the sales and purchasing modules.
Personnel organizationThe personnel organization is used only for Oracle HR and Oracle Project Accounting modules, and has no impact on finance and manufacturing modules, enabling it to adapt to complex organizational structures and streamline the organization of business operations.
The three elements of a book are the fiscal account elastic domain structure, currency, and calendar, and if more than one legal entity has the same structure, it is possible for multiple legal entities to share a single set of accounts. The business group is an organization of Oracle's multi-organizational architecture, and the Oracle system has one business group by default: Setup business group, which generally applies this default set of operations. For multinationals, such as IBM China and IBM Hong Kong to share a system, there are two business groups to be set up: The IBM China Business Group and the IBM Hong Kong business group. The legal person I understand is the entity that needs to disclose the financial report to the society independently, such as a listed company, then the subsidiaries and even branches of the listed company can be set as business entities (OUs).
