Last Monday, a colleague enthusiastically promoted Google's notebook and web office functions to us. These applications are indeed very convenient in some cases, but they still lack some practical value, or there are still many improvements.
My previous blog mentioned how fragile network applications are. I do not believe that networks are always reliable or that these network companies can always exist and provide services. I still remember how popular the free personal homepage space was in the past few years, but it disappeared in a year, and the Labor and painstaking efforts made by many people have been lost, will this happen in the future?
One of my ideas is that data synchronization should be realized between websites and user hosts. Taking blog as an example, I hope that I can write articles on my host and the data is stored locally. This can avoid unexpected user losses and facilitate user operations and maintenance. Next, I can decide to update the local data to the website at some time, or download the specified data from the website. In other words, I want to maintain an image of a website (or part of the content) locally.
This idea can be implemented by various means in the current situation, but I hope it can be implemented more naturally in the Web + browser system, in this way, information sharing between Internet users will become more convenient.
I know that Web2.0 is currently in full swing, but I still don't know much about it. I have time to take a look.
