A new version is released for the vnx oe (Operating Environment) Operating Environment. The versions of the corresponding Block and File are vnx oe Block R5.32 and vnx oe File V7.1, respectively. At the same time, EMC released three hardware enhancements for the new version:
1. Dual-port 10GBase-T copper I/O module;
2. Dual-port 10GbE optical fiber I/O module;
3. VNX 7500 SP memory expansion.
This section describes how to install the 10GbE copper I/O module on the VNX backend SP.
Installation notes
Note the following before installing the 10GbE copper I/O module on the VNX SP:
1. Installation will not interrupt user access;
2. The USM hardware wizard can be used to guide installation;
3. Only 10GbE copper module cards can be used on the backend block;
4. This card can be used to upgrade two or four iSCSI cards:
· Replace the four-port card with two SP slots;
· Professional services are required;
· Pulling out the power supply of the module will cause SP restart.
Install configurations
Step 1: log on to VNX using USM.
Step 2: Select Add or replace hardware.
Step 3: install the I/O module.
Step 4: follow the instructions to install and confirm the HA status.
Step 5: perform "rule check" and select hardware installation.
Step 6: Select the slot and module type and insert the hardware.
Step 7: install the authentication module and configure the relevant ports.
Step 8: configure the authentication port and initialize the port.
Step 9: complete the installation.
