Partition Table Corruption

Scenario Description:

Configure a GB hard drive on your machine. Initially divided into: system hidden boot partition; drive C, 60 GB; drive D, 100 GB; drive E, 100 GB; drive F, 100 GB; drive G, 100 GB. The Windows 7 32-bit flagship version was initially installed. Ubuntu desktop 13.10 requires a linux system for work. The performance of virtual machines in Windows 7 is too poor, and you also want to support the linux desktop system. Therefore, in hard disk management in Windows 7, remove the last disk 40 Gb for ubuntu. Ubuntu partition: sdb10 is the data partition, sdb11 is the system partition, and sdb12 is the exchange partition. OK. Install ubuntu and use it normally.

One day, we found that Windows 7 was poisoned, so we started to recover the Ghost. Boot with a USB flash drive to start Ghost recovery, but restore to the last 0 seconds. The Ghost is dead and does not respond after a long time. Force restart. At this time, the problem occurs: re-use the USB flash drive boot, and the windows pe crashes. Restart the instance and boot it directly from the hard disk. In the same way, it will die when the winodws icon is displayed. If you use a USB flash drive made by ubuntu desktop, you can enter the system in ubuntu. However, after you enter the system, the system will die. Enter the installation mode and die while reading the hard disk. Now it is clear that the partition is damaged. So I want to get another machine and format the drive C. However, after getting it to another machine, the same problem occurs, and the system starts to die on the windows logo. Then, start in safe mode with command line. It is found to be dead at/System/driver/disk. sys.

Combined with the above phenomenon analysis problem: the hard disk can be booted from the hard disk, indicating that the hard disk is not damaged. The partition table is damaged. An error occurred while importing the Windows 7 driver to read the partition table, leading to an endless loop. Ubuntu can be started from a USB flash drive, but the hard disk is not found and then crashed. It indicates that the Partition Table of the hard disk is damaged, but it does not enter an endless loop, leading to the startup of the system. But the reason why I got into the system is dead, I guess it is Because ubuntu needs to swap the partition, and it has a swap partition built on the hard disk, and the size of the partition identified on the hard disk is too small, no response is returned to the exported ubuntu.

The CentOS-6.5-i386-minimal.iso was downloaded because recovery mode for ubuntu desktop 13.10 was not found. Boot into a USB flash drive. Start the computer and enter recovery mode. When fdisk is used to view partitions, hundreds of partitions are displayed.

Delete the hidden boot partition from the system. Check again. The partition table is displayed, but there are still two errors.

Both errors occur in linux partitions because linux does not have important data. So delete it. At this point, the problem is resolved successfully.

Conclusion: 1. Since the partition created in ubuntu desktop 13.10 is ext4, ghost cannot correctly identify the partition table that is damaged during export recovery.

2. a bug exists in the windows disk drive, which leads to an endless loop.

3. During ubuntu startup, hard disk support is required, and there is no simplified recovery mode.
