PBOC Electronic Wallet specifications

People's Bank of ChinaPBOCPeople's Bank of China released China's financial integrated circuit card specification based on emv96, which is calledPBOC 1.0. Emv96 is the first international smart card standard for banking applications. many European countries, including France, have launched their own smart IC card standards for banking.

From the content point of view, thisPboc1.0The regulations basically translate the content of the emv96 standards (in a sense, more than 90% of the so-called Chinese standards are international standards for translation ). The interfaces of cards and terminals, technical indicators of cards, transaction processes related to applications, and technical requirements of terminals are defined respectively.

From the perspective of applications, there are two types of applications: Electronic Wallet EP (Electronic Purse) and Electronic passbook ed (electronic deposit. Each application type corresponds to different transaction flows and transaction commands.

E-Wallet supports consumption and deposit transactions without password protection. E-passbooks support transactions such as consumption, withdrawal, deposit, deposit, and overdraft quota modification. Password protection is required.

Several terms are briefly explained:

Consumption: there is almost no need to explain, that is, card insertion on the POs (point of sales) Terminal (for IC cards, card insertion instead of card swiping) for consumption;

Deposit transfer: transfers funds from a bank account to an electronic wallet or passbook;

Withdrawal: ATM (Auto Teller Machine) withdrawal without explanation;

Deposit transfer: In contrast to deposit transfer, the funds in the electronic passbook account are transferred to the bank account, and the electronic wallet does not support deposit transfer;

Modify the overdraft limit: because the electronic passbook supports overdraft, you can modify the overdraft limit of the cardholder through this transaction process.

From the perspective of transaction methods, there are two types of offline transactions and online transactions, of which: Consumption and withdrawal belong to offline transactions, while deposit, lap-up and overdraft quota modification belong to online transactions.

During offline transactions, security authentication is required between your card and the PSAM (purchase secure access module) card in your terminal (Pos or ATM, in this way, the terminal can be authorized to deduct money from the card.

For online transactions, users' cards must pass security authentication on the network and the Banking host.

Shortly after the release of this specification, EMV launched the new specification emv2000, so it also translated emv2000 and launched the so-calledPboc2.0. However, emv2000 is divided into four volumes: book1, 2/3, and 4.Pboc2.0It is divided into 10 parts, of which 1/2 andPboc1.0SimilarPboc2.0Electronic Wallet and passbook specifications (also referred toPboc2.0Edep), 3/4/5/6/7 defines the transaction process and security requirements of debit and credit, calledPboc2.0Debit and loan specifications (also referred toPboc2.0DC ).

Most e-Wallet cards issued by some banks currently complyPboc2.0In the edep section, you may feel that you have never used such a card. In fact, in most households, the IC card electric meter, IC Card gas meter, and IC Card Water Meter use such an electronic wallet card, the user is not clear.
