PS Special Effect: Crystal Word

This example mainly uses the selection, layer aliasing properties, channel processing, blur filter, lighting filter, curve adjustment, layer style and other tools, we can extrapolate, make their favorite color and effect.

1th Step

Press CTRL + N to create a new graphics file with a width of 800PX, a height of 800px, and a white background. Then set the foreground color to r 26,g, B 175. Then use the Font tool to write a word on the file that you want to make an effect on. The font selected in this example is times New Roman, font properties bold + italic. As shown in Figure 1.

2nd Step

Hold down the CTRL key and click on the type layer to select the text. Then use Select/modify/contract to enter PX. Narrow the selection as shown in Figure 2.

3rd Step

Select White as the foreground color, then press Layer/new/layer to create a new layer, name Layer1, and press ALT + back to populate the selection. Then press CTRL + D to cancel the selection. Select Filter/blur/gaussian blur and select a parameter of 16. Then execute the Gaussian blur command again and select the parameter to be 8. Execute the command again and select the parameter to be 4. Then select the layer's opacity as 52%, and the layer Properties drop-down menu to select Color Dodge. As shown in Figure 3.

4th step

Hold down the CTRL key, click the type layer, and select the text. Then select to the channels panel , press the bottom second button (Save Selection as Channel), select the new ALPHA1 channel, select Filter/blur/gaussian blur, and select the fuzzy parameter to be 1 6. The command is then executed 3 times, and the selection parameters are: 8,4,2. Press CTRL + SHIFT + I to deselect, press Del to remove, and then press CTRL + D to unselect the selections. As shown in Figure 4.

5th step

Go back to the layer panel, hold down the CTRL key, click the original type layer, get the text selection, then create a new layer, name layer2, and drag the Layer2 to the top of all layers. In the LAYER2 layer, fill the selected selection with black. Select the properties on the layer to drop the bar to screen. As shown in Figure 5.

6th step

Make sure the LAYER2 layer is currently selected, use filter/render/lighting effects , and then select the basic parameters as follows:

Gloss:79,material: -37,exposure:56,ambience:-100. For additional settings, refer to Figure 6. When this is done, use the Filter/blur/gaussian blur and the parameter selection is 3. As shown in Figure 6.

7th step

Select image/adjust/curves , in the pop-up window, with the left arrow in Figure 7 position to establish two new points,

The first point in the lower left corner of the first box to the right vertex, input:62 output:62, the second point in the lower right corner of the first box, input:192,output:44, press OK to complete the operation. Now you can see that the prototype of the effect has been formed. As shown in Figure 8.

8th Step

Use Layer/layer Style/drop shadow to add some shadow effects to the effect. In the pop-up panel, select Blend mode as normal, next to the color selection of light blue, opacity for 50-60%, press OK to complete the operation. The final effect is shown in Figure 9.
