Python document string

If the first row of a function, class, or module is a string, the string becomes a document string (docstrings).

Built-in functions the default method of Help () or object __doc__ can display these document strings.

Doctest Module

The module allows the embedding of annotations within a document string to show the expected behavior of various statements, especially the results of functions and methods.

Creating self-Test modules

Add the following code at the tail of the module:

if __name__ = = ' __main__ ':

Import Doctest

Doctest.testmod ()

Such modules can be self-tested when run directly in the Python interpreter.
