Iteration is a development technique used to pass system functions to a full version of a series of increments, each of which is developed for a specific fixed period of time, which is called an iteration.
The process of experiencing each iteration:
The entire iteration process:
The color in the figure represents a different proportion of each activity being developed
Benefits of iterative development:
1. Reduce risk
2. Get early user feedback
3. Continuous testing and integration
4, adapt to change
Development Features:
1, before the large-scale investment, to solve the key risk issues
2. Early user feedback can occur in the initial iteration
3, continuous testing and integration.
4. Each target milestone provides a short-term focus.
5, the measurement of the process is carried out by the implementation of the assessment
6, the implementation of the local can be deployed.
Iterations compared to the traditional waterfall style:
Traditional waterfall development, from requirements to design, from design to coding, from coding to testing, from testing to submitting a process like this, requires every development phase to be the best. Especially in the early stage, the more perfect the design, the less cost loss after submission. This is the process that I am currently engaged in as an outsourced project.
Iterative development is comprised of a number of cascade development processes, the result of which is a version of an executable product and a subset of the total system system products. Through the continuous increment and refinement system of multiple iterations, the information is gradually increased and refined in each iteration. Each iteration chooses the use instances that currently have the greatest impact on the risk to decompose and mitigate the risks.
