The use of virtual machines on the physical machine to build RAC environment encountered a lot of "pit" and key points, here slowly one by one aftertaste summary.
Physical machine: Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-5600u CPU @ 2.60ghz,8g Memory
Virtual machine software: VMware serverversion 2.0.2
Database software: Oracle 11.2.0.1, Grid
Virtual machine operating system: Oracle Linux 6.2
Virtual machine Installation Planning: Local hard Disk 20G, memory 2G, shared disk total 4 blocks: 2 block vote, each 1.2g,2 block data disk, each 5G
(1) Storage of virtual machine local disks and shared disks
I created two RAC nodes, which were stored in two different folders, for example: D:/rac1 and D:/RAC2.
The shared disk cannot be the same as the virtual machine disk storage location because it can be accessed by two nodes, so it needs to be stored separately, such as D:/sharedisk.
(2) Host name
Virtual machine installation Orel In one step is to create a host name, because there will be two nodes, so there are some rules on the naming specification, such as Rac1.bisal and Rac2.bisal.
(3) Select partition Scheme
The following options are available:
1. Use all space: uses all spaces. Delete all partitions and execute the default installation policy.
2. Replace Existing Linux system (s): Replace existing Linux systems. Delete only the partitions of the Linux file system and execute the default installation policy.
3. Shrink Current system: Reduce existing systems. Shrinks the existing partition size and executes the default installation policy.
4. Use the free space: using the remaining room. Use the remaining space to perform the default installation policy.
5. Create custom layout: creates the customized layouts.
The default installation policy is:
1. Separate the partition to mount the/boot directory;
2. Create a SWAP partition, typically 1.5-twice times of memory;
3. All the remaining space is allocated/partitioned;
You can also choose 5 to define a different partitioning strategy for yourself.
(4) Select software Group
If you want to go directly to the graphical interface after installation, you need to select Desktop here.
(5) Configure network card IP
Node 1: Set up two NICs,
Nic 1:ip is 192.168.11.200,gateway is 192.168.11.1,dns is 192.168.11.200.
Nic 2:IP is 10.0.0.200,Gateway is 10.0.0.1,DNS is 10.0.0.200.
Node 2: Set up two NICs,
Nic 1:ip is 192.168.11.210,gateway is 192.168.11.1,dns is 192.168.11.210.
Nic 2:ip is 10.0.0.210,gateway is 10.0.0.1,dns is 10.0.0.210.
After configuration, you can restart the Network service: Service network Restart to make it effective.
