RedHat launches SAPHana-certified RHEL images on AWS

Although SAP has launched the Hana cloud platform only on AWS of IBMSoftLayer and development edition, cloud service providers are already deploying SAPHana. Although SAP has launched the Hana cloud platform only on AWS for IBM SoftLayer and development, cloud service providers are already deploying SAP Hana.

She said: "We found that some customers have gradually used SAP Hana in the production environment, and the new RHEL image users have another option when migrating to the cloud platform ."

She expects that there will be a corresponding big data load along with Hana, so most users will choose AWS's M4 instance-with the latest Intel xeon processor.

RedHat expects that the customer's deployment of Hana joint instances will not be limited to the cloud. As SAP begins to authenticate other cloud service providers that provide Hana, RedHat has plans accordingly.

To what extent does the user customize the SAP Enterprise Management Application on the cloud? There is still some debate in the industry about this issue.

SAP has always encouraged enterprises to create applications running on the Hana platform. However, when it comes to SAP's own enterprise management applications, SAP claims that users should use cloud services managed by SAP instead of customized services, for IT companies, SAP's enterprise management applications cover 95% of their business needs.

On the contrary, cloud service providers have noticed that commercial companies have a long tradition of customizing SAP applications, and the demand for customized software will not disappear because of the use of the cloud platform.

Competition between cloud service providers has never stopped, but it is clear that each cloud service provider wants to obtain SAP Hana certification and support so that Hana can increase its big data business volume to reduce operation costs, lower costs will allow them to provide cheaper services to customers.
