Redis2.6 has been released (). After downloading it, there will be a bunch of compilation errors during make. Later, let's look at the issue, which is related to the linux system version and number of digits.
Yesterday, the author antirez released 2.6.2. This version fixes some problems that make failed due to incompatibility of linux versions. However, it is found that there are still some problems in compiling on the testing machine, and I raised a question on issue: (https://github.com/antirez/redis/issues/736#issuecomment-9848046) when I came in the morning, I was really touched by the enthusiastic reply from the ox. On the testing machine, because the system is 32-bit, the compilation fails. First, I immediately confirmed this problem. During the test on the 64-bit testing machine, I found that the compilation was successful, then, on the 32-bit server, I was prompted to add a CFLAGS =-march = i686 To The Makefile, and the compilation was successful, so I felt a lot better!
:
Then, run tar and make. (Before making, If you confirm that your testing machine is a 32-bit linux server, add CFLAGS =-march = i686 to the header of the src/Makefile file. Refer to the related answers in isSUSE)
Modify the corresponding redis. conf file and start it to perform the test.
I. This version is mainly updated with the following functions:
1. Supports lua scripts.
2. the VM (Virtual Memory) is removed.
3. The limit on the client becomes unlimited.
4. aof performance has improved a lot.
5. The key filtering time can be millisecond-level. It turns out to be seconds.
6. The list and hash attributes filed or value contain small integers, and the memory optimization column is good (jemalloc, formerly malloc ).
7. Provides BITCOUNT and BITOP. The former supports bit count, and the latter supports bit operations. (Previously, only key-value placement operations were supported)
8. Support for new commands dump and restore, namely, serialization and deserialization.
9. Big Data Storage performance optimization.
One of the above features is lua script support, and the other is bit operation function extension.
The increase in BIT operations already exists in 2.4, through setbit/getbit, related operations (pay attention to the size side problem, when storing and reading data ).
Bitcount and bitop operations are added this time. Bit operations are used to enhance the implementation of some statistical functions and other related functions.
We have been considering whether to increase the number of bits in our system and use bit to record relevant data, but we have never been able to operate in bits. We have achieved this in 2.6. I still like it very much.
Ii. Related simple tests:
With jemalloc and related code optimization, the performance of redis2.6 must be improved.
Use redis2.6.2 compared with redis2.4.4.
In the same environment, 10 thousand set and 10 thousand get operations take the following time:
Redis2.6.2 redis2.4.4
Set operation 5938 ms 6109 ms
Get operation 5985 ms 5812 ms
The above tests on the development machine do not reflect the complete performance of redis, but in the same environment, you can test the performance problems of different redis versions. From the above set get operations, the redis2.6 performance has been improved, but not much.
