Most of the time, the files we save on the computer do not want others to see them. How can we prevent others from seeing it? Many friends use special encrypted files to encrypt files. In fact, it is not that troublesome. We can simply use the system itself without using third-party software.
First, right-click the folder to be kept confidential, select properties, and select "hide" in the Open Properties window (1 ). Open my computer, select "Tools> Folder Options> View" on the menu bar, and select "do not show hidden files and folders" in the hidden files and folders in advanced settings (2 ). After confirmation, the hidden file we just set will not be visible.
But if you select "show all files and folders", will the hidden files be invisible again? Yes. But don't worry. You can modify the registry so that even if you select "show all files and folders", hidden files cannot be displayed. Click the Start menu, select the Run Command, and enter Regedit in the run dialog box to open the Registry Editor, in the left-side window, open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced \ Folder \ Hidden \ showall branch, and double-click the checkedvalue key in the right-side window, change its key value to "0". If you do not have this key value, you can create a new "DWORD Value" named "checkedvalue" by yourself ", then, change the value to "0". Then, exit the Registry Editor and restart the computer. Then, you will find that the files set to "hidden" can be completely invisible.
