1. Remote Desktop Functions

The Remote Desktop Connection component is provided by Microsoft from windows2000server. It is not installed by default on windows2000server. This component was launched by many users and liked it. Therefore, in windows xp and 2003, Microsoft reformed the method for enabling this component, you can simply select this option to enable the Remote Desktop Connection function in XP and 2003.

When the Remote Desktop Connection function is enabled on a computer, we can control the computer on the other end of the network. Through the Remote Desktop function, we can operate the computer in real time and install software on it, run the program, and everything seems to be directly operated on the computer. This is the biggest function of Remote Desktop. Through this function, the network administrator can control the server of the Organization safely at home, this function is more convenient and flexible than other third-party remote control tools.

2. Development of Remote Desktop

Speaking of Remote Desktop, many users think it was introduced from WIN2000 SERVER. In fact, we can see it in WIN98 or DOS. Remote Desktop is a TELNET-like technology developed from the TELNET protocol.

In the early days of computer development, the TELNET Protocol emerged when many clients were unable to run their programs independently due to low hardware configurations. It was a C/S mode, the client can log on to the high-configuration server through TELNET and run the program on the server. When the program is running, all the operations and storage are taught to the server. After the calculation, the server returns the results to the client, in this way, the program running can be completed when the client configuration is insufficient, and the running result is not slow.

Remote Desktop Connection is developed from TELNET. In general, it is a graphical TELNET. In the following section, we will introduce some TELNET related knowledge when using Remote Desktop Connection.

3. How to start Remote Desktop Connection

Since the development of Microsoft's operating system, only the following three operating systems can use the Remote Desktop function, such as WINDOWS 2000 SERVER, windows xp, and WINDOWS 2003. The methods for enabling remote desktop vary among the three systems.

1) WINDOWS 2000 SERVER

In WINDOWS, the PROFESSIONAL version cannot enable the Remote Desktop function for others to access, but the SERVER version can be enabled, but we need to install the corresponding WINDOWS Components. The method is as follows:
Step 1: Go to "start-> Settings-> Control Panel" in the taskbar and select "Add/delete programs ".
Step 2: Select "Add/delete WINDOWS Components" on the left ".
Step 3: The Add/delete WINDOWS component window will appear later. Select Terminal Service and click "Next" to install the component. 1) note that during the installation process, we need to insert the WINDOWS 2000SERVER system CD to the optical drive.
Step 4: restart the computer after installation. After restart, the Remote Desktop Connection function under WINDOWS 2000SERVER is installed.

2) WINDOWS XP
As mentioned above, the introduction of the Remote Desktop Connection function in Windows has been well received by many users. It is widely believed that the method to enable this function is too complicated, in addition, you cannot guarantee that everyone has a Windows Server CD. Therefore, in XP and 2003 systems, Microsoft simplified the Remote Desktop enabling operation.
Step 1: Right-click my computer on the desktop and select "properties ".
Step 2: select the remote tag in the pop-up System Properties window.
Step 3: Find "Remote Desktop" in the remote tag and check "allow users to connect to this computer" to enable Remote Desktop Connection in XP. 2)

3) WINDOWS 2003
The method for enabling WINDOWS2003 is similar to that of XP, and the operation steps are also simplified. The method is as follows:
Step 1: Right-click my computer on the desktop and select "properties ".
Step 2: select the remote tag in the pop-up System Properties window.
Step 3: Find "Remote Desktop" in the remote tag, check "allow user to connect to this computer", and then confirm to enable the Remote Desktop Connection function under 2003. 3)

4. Remote Desktop Connection

The Method of Using Remote Desktop Connection is very simple, because once connected to the server, it is the same as operating the local computer. So the only thing to explain is the connection operation. How can I connect to a computer with the Remote Desktop function enabled? We need the Remote Desktop Connection host.

1) windows xp and 2003 operating systems:
These two systems build the Remote Desktop Connection program into the attachment, and we can use the Remote Desktop Connection without installing any program.
Step 1: Start the logon program through "START-> Program-> attachment-> communication-> Remote Desktop Connection" in the taskbar. 4)
Step 2: Enter the IP address of the computer on which the Remote Desktop function is enabled in "computer" in Figure 4.
Step 3: click the "Connect" button and we can successfully log on to the computer, as shown in Figure 5 after the connection, which is as convenient as operating your computer.

2) Other WINDOWS operating systems:
2000 in WINDOWS and earlier versions, the logon tool was not included in the attachment. We have two methods to obtain the login tool and implement Remote Desktop Connection.

Method 1: Use the XP disc splitter MSRDPCLI
The \ SUPPORT \ toolsdirectory under the CD drive letter of the XP system contains a program named msrdpcli.exe, which is actually a Remote Desktop Connection handler and runs msrdpcli.exe under the Windows 98/2000machine. The Remote Desktop Connection Program will be automatically installed. The installation process is very simple. Just click "Next. After completion, you can log on to the computer on the network through "start-> Program-> attachments-> communication-> Remote Desktop Connection.

Method 2: third-party host
In fact, many sites on the network provide download of the Remote Desktop recorder. We can download the scanner on system 98 or System 2000 to log on to the Remote Desktop.
