Gobby is a free collaborative editor that supports multi-document and multi-user chat in a Single Window. It can run on Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and other unix-like platforms. It uses GTK + 2.6 as its desktop package.

I mainly think his chat function is quite interesting. Maybe it can be used.
