Resolume Arena How to use

Source: Internet
Author: User

The newly installed Resolume contains a demo synth. Compositing is the complete Resolume Setup Unit-Each composition contains several sets of clips, effects, and all other settings required for the performance.

  Trigger Fragment

Below the menu bar, you can see a set of columns arranged horizontally, some control tools on the left, followed by a set of thumbnails. Each thumbnail represents a separate fragment.

Pilot hit a thumbnail to let the clip start playing. Note that these fragments are preset to synchronize with BPM (number of beats per minute), so the clip you clicked does not necessarily start playing immediately. The fragment may need to wait until the beginning of the next section to play. But don't worry, as long as you change the settings, the clip can be played right away with a single click.

Now you should be able to see the clip from the left Output window and hear the clip's audio. If you can't hear the audio, turn the volume up.

You can click the Clip tab to control the clip in play. Let's take a look at the shipping section of the page.

You can play or pause clips by using the play forward, play back, and pause playback buttons. You can also grab a dynamic blue wedge to scrape the clip and make the audio Wikka Wikka wah sound!

It is important to note that the above actions make the fragments no longer synchronized with BPM, although the fragments are still at the same speed but have phase differences. You can click the clip thumbnail again to synchronize the clip again with BPM so that the fragment will start again at the beginning of the next section.

  Mixing frequency

Playing a single clip works fine, but mixing up a few fragments is really fun. Each horizontal bar that contains fragments is a separate layer. Each layer can play only one clip at a time.

Pilot to hit other still thumbnails on the same layer. As you can see, the beginning of the next section will output a new fragment instead.

Then try to hit a fragment on another layer. This time, the old clips will continue to play and mix with the new clips.

Look to the left of the thumbnail image. There are two vertical sliders called "a" and "v". Try pulling the slider of the layer you are playing up and down. The "a" slider is used to fade in and fade out the layer's audio. The "v" slider function is the same, used in video. You can also use the "av" slider to control both audio and video.

  Effects

There are some column markers on the right side of the interface that read "archives", "crafting", "effects" and "material". Please select the effect Bar label.

There is a list under the column, which contains the effects provided by Resolume. The Audio VST button is used as an open audio effect.

Select one of the effects and drag it to the left of the Crafting tab, and place it on the range labeled "put effects or masks here." (See Four color box corners surround the crafting bar, you'll know the right place.)

The effect will change the output video immediately.

Pay attention to where you place the effects. You will see two sliders below the bendoscope effect. All video effects are called "opacity" sliders, which are used to adjust the effects on the video.

Most special effects have additional control parameters. Bendoscope also has a number of divisions that are used to control the distortion effect.

You can continue to select new effects from the effects bar. New effects will affect the video of the last effect output. With overlapping effects, you can make beautiful effects.

If you want to clear the effect, click the "x" to the right of the effect name. You can temporarily turn off the effects by clicking the "b" (Bypass) toggle button.
