My laptop has Windows 7 + XP + Ubuntu9.10 and three systems coexist. GRUB was lost after Windows 7 was reinstalled last night. This is normal because MBR was rewritten, however, the previous methods did not work. After checking the cause on the network, we found that GRUB was changed to GRUB2 in Ubuntu boot from 9.10. First, insert the installation disk into the optical drive, select Chinese after the boot, and then select "repair damaged system". Then, enter the basic blue graphic interface. First, test the keyboard and skip, later, you can configure DHCP or skip it. Finally, go to the partition page and ask you about the partition. on this page, select "return" to go to a large menu, select "Install GRUB boot loader", followed by the installation progress bar, after installation, go to a hard disk partition table, select "back" again, return to the menu, select "Install software on a CD", and enter a hard disk list. Select a partition in the format of EXT4, that is, the partition where Ubuntu 9.10 is located. Then, you will be prompted for the location where GRUB is installed. Let's choose whether to return to hd (0) or another method. Press hd (0) here) install it in MBR. After the installation is complete, restart and the familiar GRUB boot menu will be back! And the newly installed WIN7 can also be guided. This is the simplest restoration method I have found so far.
