The Remote Desktop Connection function is added to Windows XP. By using Remote Desktop Connection, you can connect computers in other locations to the desktop of a local computer, it is very convenient and practical to execute programs on a local computer or connect a local computer to the desktop of a computer in another location.
1. Set Remote Desktop Connection
To set up Remote Desktop Connection, you must first establish a connection with the Internet or set up a terminal server in the LAN.
Before connecting to a remote desktop, you must set the Remote Desktop Connection as follows:
1) Click "start" and select "All Programs"> "attachments"> "communication"> "Remote Desktop Connection.
2) Open the "Remote Desktop Connection" dialog box, as shown in 12.31.
3) Click the "options" button to expand all the dialog boxes.
4) Select the "General" tab, as shown in Figure 12.32.
5) in the "computer" text box of the "Logon Settings" hosts group, enter the name of the computer for Remote Desktop Connection. In the "user name" text box, enter the user name used for logon; in the "password" text box, enter the user's logon password. In the "Domain" text box, enter the name of the domain name you want to log on to. To save the password, select the "Save Password" check box.
6) Click the "Save as" button in the "connection settings" option group to save the current settings. After saving the settings, you can click the "open" button directly, open to save the settings.
7) Click "Connect" to connect to the Remote Desktop.
8) the "log on to" dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 12.33.
9) in the "user name" text box in the dialog box, enter the name of the logon user, enter the logon password in the "password" text box, and select the logon domain from the "log on to" drop-down list.
10) Click "OK" to log on to the computer desktop, as shown in Figure 12.34.
11) after successful login, you can use the program in the Remote Desktop to perform various operations.
Note:The Remote Desktop selected by the author uses the Windows 2000 server operating system. The Remote Desktop you log on to may vary depending on the operating system used by the other party. Using the program in the Remote Desktop does not affect the normal operation of the computer.
