The AutoFormat As You type feature helps users automatically replace characters when they are entered in the Word2010 document, or automatically apply the most appropriate formatting. Users can enable or turn off related options by setting the AutoFormat As You type option, which is described in the following steps:
Step 1th, open the Word2010 document window, and click the file → options button, as shown in Figure 2010093012.

Step 2nd, in the Open Word Options dialog box, switch to the Proofing tab, and in the AutoCorrect Options area, click the AutoCorrect Options button, as shown in Figure 2010093013.

Step 3rd, open the AutoCorrect dialog box and switch to the AutoFormat As You Type tab, where the three main types have the following meanings:
(1) Automatically replace when typing: users in the input quotes, hyphens, paragraph first spaces, fractions, and other characters, automatically use the preset format to replace;
(2) automatic application when typing: The user automatically applies the appropriate paragraph formatting (such as "Automatic bulleted list", "Automatic numbered list", etc.) when entering numbers, bullets, etc.
(3) Automatic implementation when typing: the user automatically matches the correct character or format when entering parentheses, English characters, and so on.
The user can select or cancel the appropriate option according to the actual needs, and click OK, as shown in Figure 2010093014.
