Set ubuntu11.04 to access the Internet on the VM

I recently switched to ubuntu11.04 on the virtual machine, but I tried many ways to connect to the Internet. Vmnet8 cannot be found in the network connection of the host. It is said that if you use NAT to access the Internet in the VM, vmnet8 will be used ,. Later, I uninstalled and reinstalled the VM, and now I have vmnet8. In Linux on a virtual machine, choose "network connection"> "Wired"> "edit" and set the MAC address to 00: 0C: 29: 2D: B5: 99. The value is displayed in ifconfig on the terminal, then, Set automatic DHCP in IPv4, "the IPv4 address is required to complete the connection", check it, and then you can access the Internet. However, after the connection, the IP address of the VM and the IP address of the host are not a network segment. If ifconfig is used in the terminal to set it to the same network segment as the host, the VM will not be able to access the Internet. Is there a way to set the Virtual Machine and host to the same network segment while still surfing the internet? No answer is found.
