Set up FTP site and properties on the IIS server

After IIS Server 4.0 is installed, a default FTP site is automatically created in MMC. To create an FTP site, select the host name of the site, right-click it, and choose add> FTP site, enter the FTP site description, IP address, port number, home directory, and access permission in sequence in the create wizard. After the operation is complete, a new FTP site is generated.

If you want to set the properties of an FTP site, first select the FTP site with the mouse, right-click it, and select Properties from the pop-up menu, the FTP site Properties dialog box is displayed. It mainly includes the following property pages:

● FTP site on the IIS server: Set the FTP site ID, connection, and log information, including site description, IP address, port number, restrictions on the number of connected users, and whether to enable logs.

● IIS server security account: Select whether to allow anonymous connections. If anonymous connections are allowed, users with "anonymous" usernames can log on to the FTP server. By default, an account with the username "USER-Host Name" is created for all Anonymous logins, such as USER-e 40.

This account is automatically created in Windows NT "domain user manager" and Internet service manager during IIS Server Installation and is assigned a random password. You can also use the "user name" and "password" dialog box to set a Windows NT user account for all anonymous connections.

● Information: Set the information displayed when the site is enabled and exited.

● Main directory: it can be a local directory or a shared directory on a computer in the network.

● Directory Security: Filter IP addresses to allow or deny access to the site from computers with these IP addresses.
